The AC Ace Bristol is a legendary sports car that was produced by AC Cars Limited from 1956 to 1962. It was a beautiful and powerful car that became famous for its combination of British engineering and American power.
At the heart of the Ace Bristol was a 2.0-liter, six-cylinder engine that was designed and built by the Bristol Aeroplane Company. This engine was based on the BMW 328 engine and was modified by Bristol to produce more power. With 125 horsepower and 117 lb-ft of torque, the Ace Bristol was able to achieve a top speed of 116 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 9.1 seconds.
The Ace Bristol’s chassis was designed by John Tojeiro, who was famous for his work with racing cars. The car’s body was made of hand-formed aluminum panels that were riveted to a steel frame. This gave the Ace Bristol a lightweight yet strong body that was perfect for racing.
The AC Ace Bristol was a successful race car, winning its class at Le Mans in 1959 and placing well in other international races. But it was also a beautiful and stylish car that was popular with celebrities and wealthy car enthusiasts.
